My 3 mile run this morning wasn’t anything special in itself, but my attitude was. I actually overslept and missed going to the gym, and because of my shitty attitude the last few months I would normally said screw it and gone back to sleep. I like the idea of “something is better than nothing” but fail to follow through with that. My attitude is normally, “i can’t go exactly according to plan so i won’t do anything at all.” I’m well aware that is a horrible thought process and am working to change. Today I made a change. My plan for today was Jillian Michaels at the gym with Caitlin followed by a treadmill HIIT run. Instead, I ran 3 miles around my neighborhood at an easy pace and realized that since I took a month off of running, I shouldn’t be speed training in my 1st week of running. HIIT training is amazing for fat loss which I am also aiming for, but I can’t risk getting injured while I’m training so soon. I also got to enjoy lots of coffee and breakfast at my apartment instead of my desk. Luxury.
Breakfast was overnight oats dumped in an almost empty PB jar and eaten with a frozen yogurt spoon. Heaven!
It was a cold, rainy day in NYC today but my attitude adjustment allowed me to still sing/dance my way to work because music just sounded awesome today. I despise rain, in every way possible, but I didn’t let it bother me today! Not to mention my co-workers are absolutely hilarious and we literally laugh all day long 🙂
AM snack was a pineapple Chobani with a few cocoa roasted almonds and a taste of my co-workers honey roasted PB! Fortunately it has added sugar so I won’t buy my own cause it was goooood. It had trouble written all over it.
Lunch was on the light side today because I need to go grocery shopping! I threw together 3 egg whites, cucumber, beets, feta cheese and pink salt. It had less than 200 calories so I didn’t think it would keep me full at all, but surprisingly I didn’t get hungry the rest of the afternoon!
I almost went back to spin tonight, but I’m waiting til I’m really ready to tackle 2-a-days and get on a good but crazy workout schedule. It will be next week, good motivator is my birthday is in a month! 🙂 Instead I walked a mile in the rain to
heaven my tanning salon and then headed home for dinner.
Ahi tuna fillet with crumbled goat cheese, green beans, broccoli with ketchup and parmesan cheese. Random, as usual, but it was incredible.
I just ate a mini PowerCake made of 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 cup oats, 2 egg whites and water, mixed and microwaved for 3-4 minutes. Topped with PB that melts, mmm 🙂
Now I’m watching Law & Order snuggled in bed. ❤ Goodnight!
